It's so nice for me to get some feedback and support on this matter. Chandra left the home last year with all the money he could get from the volunteers... and that's why i help Jyoti so much :) Really brought there many help this year and more coming through more friends. In this moment I believe i can turn my attention to other poor kids from mountain villages, I also helped them before but was not able (at least yet) this year as all attention went to ECH. Your board was there, don't know how it is now, will try to check again later. In India I just went to Harmony House - Hampi Children's Trust, you can spend some time there helping children in their studies. My best regards!!Lyahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12186971670304475958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9153430003344439634.post-69971902461233428362012-04-27T08:42:43.755+01:002012-04-27T08:42:43.755+01:00Lya, I have a tremendous amount of respect for you...Lya, I have a tremendous amount of respect for you, Jyoti, the other volunteers and those who donated money to the orphanage.

After I left the Everest Children's Home almost exactly a year ago Jyoti e-mailed me to ask for my help a few months later. I regretted that I was not able to help and was worried about the fate of the orphanage because it needed more support.

I'm very glad to read on your blog that things have changed for the better at the orphanage, thank you so much for writing on the state of the orphanage on your blog.

A few more questions, you briefly mention your memories of Chandra in this post. I've also read all your other posts up to your post about Southern India, but you do not mention him in your other posts about the orphanage and I don't see him in the photos either. Did he leave Jyoti and the orphanage completely?

By the time you left the Everest Children's Home a few weeks ago, was my whiteboard still operational? Just curious, the quality of the thing had me worried that it would not last more than a few months.

You've also visited India I see. While I do not have the time to read everything, did you also do volunteer work there? Because my time in Nepal was such a positive experience (even though my memories of Chandra were quite negative as well) I intend to visit India this or next year and hope to be doing volunteer work there as well. I was wondering if you might have some recommendations for me on where I could find volunteer work?

Greetings from the cloudy and rainy Netherlands!
